As the year draws to a close and the team begin eagerly anticipating the Christmas shutdown, we reflect upon an incredibly busy year. It has been tough for everyone in the industry, but with the experience and dedication we have here at TexTrade UK, we are turning lemons into lemonade. Here are our textile recycling company highlights from 2024 — the moments that defined an eventful year.
Textile recycling company highlights: opening new export markets
Early in the year some of the team embarked upon a trip to Egypt to begin opening up trade discussions between us and some well-connected merchants in the country. The market there is unused to doing business in a different way and with different people, but with some perseverance we have started to ship quality UK goods which have been receiving some great feedback.
Later in the year we visited the Czech Republic and met with some large used clothing wholesalers and retailers. A beautiful country with a rich history, we quickly established some regular clients. These new export relationships strengthen our position as a trusted textile recycling company serving wholesale buyers across Europe and beyond.
Launching Renew UK to support Ukrainian children
For some time now some of our finest minds have been working in the background on an ambitious project to create a charity from the ground up. The purpose of this charity is to assist primarily children in Ukraine who have been affected by the war. The paperwork alone has been quite formidable, but it is now off the ground and has the backing of some of the councillors in the Newport area.
We envisage 2025 will bring the first flush of funds, which will be used to make things just a little bit more bearable for Ukrainian children. You can learn more about our community work on our For Communities page or visit Renew UK directly.

Looking ahead to 2025
As we close the chapter on this eventful year, we are filled with gratitude for the challenges that pushed us to grow and the successes that reminded us of the value of perseverance. These textile recycling company highlights reflect the dedication of our team and the trust of our partners.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to build on the foundations we have laid — strengthening our international partnerships, expanding our impact through charitable initiatives, and continuing to deliver quality and value to our clients. As a Charity Retail Association member and TRUST-certified trader, we remain committed to ethical, responsible textile management. If you would like to work with us, discuss your requirements as a brand, explore our sustainability commitments, or simply get in touch. Here is to a brighter, more fruitful year ahead!
